Breathwork workshop: Freedom of self-expression
Time & Location
About the Event
Do you say yes when deep down you want to say no? Do you hold in your emotions or thoughts because you don't want to make a fuss or risk confrontation? Do you not dare to share your creativity because you're scared about how it will be received by others?
Many of us have been conditioned to not make other people feel uncomfortable, that it's not safe to draw attention to ourselves, and that we will be ridiculed or rejected if we reveal our true selves and our emotions to the world. These and other limiting beliefs can lead us to quieting our voice, and to unconsciously live behind personas; the good girl, the tough guy, the selfless mother, the independent woman, to name a few, that we believe will gain us acceptance, love or safety. This inauthentic way of being can leave us with supressed feelings of anger and resentment, disatisfaction and sadness.
In this workshop we will use free movement, the breath and exercises to explore our connection to our inner world and how we can express ourselves authentically.
There will be about approx. 25 minutes of movement and 50 minutes of breathwork. There will be a full introduction to breathwork for anyone new to the practice.
Free and reduced price places available on request by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
This workshop is only open to participants aged 16 and over.
